   I like to travel around our great World Wide Web, visiting Forums to learn more about doing business on the Internet. While I am there I love leaving a few uplifting message to make people feel like the “special people” that they are. I get warm fuzzy feelings when I do something for someone else.

   One day, I checked my email and there was a message from this Larry L. Nichols, who had been following my postings and had decided to give “ME” a little pat on the back.

   I’m a pretty good judge of junk mail and if I detect it, I’ll delete it in a split second, but this did not appear to be like that. The content in this email actually drew me right into reading it and that takes talent. So…

   I took the time to read it and it was the best thing that I have done in a quite while, other than cheering people up, that is. Larry is one of the most uplifting guys I know. I have come to know Larry and I value the fact that he shares himself with me and others. He doesn’t just write messages, he writes an adventure every time.

   Larry amazed me with the power of his writing and the way that his words draw me in is awesome. He sometimes uses words that are extremely humorous and every sentence expresses something in a way that few authors can. I personally write very simple text, and I don’t have a great grasp of grammar, but I know the type of writing that I like to read, and Larry’s hit that spot immediately.

   We are now aiming at an email session that will continue for 38 years or more the Lord willing.

   If I were to point out one thing that makes Larry special in my eyes, it would have to be his “What can I do to make you feel great” attitude. We have sent many emails back and forth, and not once has there been a request for anything, nor has there ever been a “What’s in it for me” line.

   Friends like that, are a once in a lifetime gift. I must say that I have been blessed with a few friends, very few friends, like Larry.

   KDAR contacted Larry L. Nichols of “WriteForme.com” to write a promotional ad for local area Burger King Restaurants.  We had a great idea and offer, now all we needed was to somehow get it worded in such a way as to get listeners to respond to the message.

   This is where Larry came in.  He wrote a 60 second commercial spot for us to run on the station. It was very creative and got the message across clearly and affectively.  The results: Burger King Restaurants in Ventura and Fillmore saw over 1200 KDAR listeners respond to the offer in the very first month on the air.    Larry is like the proverbial” fly on the wall” of each and every subculture.  He doesn't just write on a subject; He writes “from” it.  The subject can be about the evolution of Hip-Hop, to the advantages of rolling over a 401k.  It can be the writing of a radio spot or an acceptance speech, Larry's aim and unyielding creativity will hit the bulls-eye each and every time!

   Although he may write wearing nothing but a robe that Rick “The Nature Boy” Flair would envy, while eating granola crackers with processed cheese on them, and singing along with Weird Al Yankovic songs, Larry is one of the most down-to-earth people I know.

   He is a vast encyclopedia of informational stuff that has a lot to do with a lot. We have written back and forth about everything from how reality television has made the world a place (not necessarily better or worse) to existential quandaries in our lives and how we got there.

   I feel he may very well be one of the best pat-on-the-back, get your butt in gear, kick in the pants, pep talk making people with an e-mail address. After all, he is one of the few people I know who has the secret to life. 

   Problem is, he has sworn me to secrecy. But, I can let you know this. The answer is not “42.” (Get 10 points for anyone who writes me and lets me know what book that comes from).

   Finally, I must admit, to know him is to know him. To visit with him, is a long trip for me to make. And to work with him, is always a wonderful adventure waiting to happen.
